More about garden bonsai Living-Art
Garden-Bonsai are large individual trees trimmed of about 1-4 m height. They are imported directly from Japan. Each plant is selected by Wörlein experts personally.
shape copse as miniature versions of gardening is an art that is cultivated in Japan for centuries. Have withstood the beauty and majesty of old trees, the long period of harsh nature, is to be modeled.
Japanese garden plants are selected on the model of an idealized nature, the basic form. Through decades of regular care and cutting the plants receive their unique character and expression.
The resulting small trees allow the design of a small space. The annual pruning of the fresh shoots obtained in permanent form and size of plants. However, they are always more expressive and more valuable.
Use
Garden-bonsai are plants of great expressive power, so they should be placed with deliberation. Garden-bonsai need a quiet environment and enough space to get full effect. Reduction and aesthetic sensitivity in the garden lead to impressive results.
Wörlein Garden-Bonsai can be used in the following situations, e.g.:
- small gardens, courtyards, terraces
- entrances
- formal gardens
- asian inspired gardens
- gardens for modern buildings
- Alpinum
The Garden-Bonsai can be combined with strong flower colors that contrast with the soft foliage of bamboo and Japanese maple, or grow out of peaceful green areas or landscapes modeled.
Soil Preparation
Before planting valuable trees, such as the Wörlein Garden-Bonsai, the soil should be prepared with special care. Hardy Garden-bonsai are formed mainly of pine (Pinus), yew (Taxus) and juniper (Juniperus). They all like to grow in loose humus rich soil with not too much lime and without standing water.
In clay soils are a mixture of lime-free ever third sand, peat and topsoil existing proven. Adding lots of organic manure is useful as peat and sand containing no nutrients.
Sandy soils should contain only enough humus constituents. If necessary organic matter (peat, black humus, manure deposited may be added, etc.) should be added.
When compacted subsoils should be a hill planting by creating a bed which is slightly higher than the root ball of the bonsai. When waterlogging must be placed a drainage.
Planting
With good soil preparation, planting is almost a breeze. Care should be taken only to
- That the plant to the viewer their "best side" turns
- That the ball protrudes slightly from the ground because the plant usually sinks a little
- That a casting ring is created for the watering of the plant
A plant stake to secure the plant is usually not necessary since the root ball in relation to the plant is quite large. After the plant is watered heavily, but there must be no permanent swamp, because the roots can suffocate and rot.
Care
For the care little effort is expected. After the formation of the plant at the nursery only a simple three cuts per year are necessary to keep the bonsai garden in shape.
There should be no weed in the area around the bonsai.
Occasional moderate fertilizer is sufficient, especially if the increase or the intensity of the leaf or needle greens decreases.
During long dry spells in winter and summer (!!!) the plants should be watered thoroughly.
